Hi all.

In our en suite the shower tray will fill up sometimes to the top to the point of overflowing before then emptying out properly with a big gurgle coming from the sink.

After the trap, the shower waste appears to go down under the chipboard floor where I assume it links up with the sink waste pipe before then entering the stack.

There are no leaks and sometimes it is absolutely fine. The sink emptys fine but gurgles sometimes so i am thinking some sort of air lock?

Would fitting a new trap to the sink one of the ones with an air intake (cant remember what these are called sorry) help with this?

Any advice welcome.

Shower tray traps block very easily, ensure you clean it out every two weeks. A sink is a culinary appliance & found in your kitchen or utility room. A basin, wash basin or wash hand basin is found in a bathroom, en-suite, cloakroom etc.

Clean out the shower trap, most modern shower traps are top access & many also have a hair guard.
Hope that helps & enlighten you.

What makes you think the en suite isnt also the kitchen? ;)
