I found this post //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/can-you-help-identify-my-shower.337936/ which helped identify the shower valve in my shower as RV1102RC, but it also has me wondering whether the valve is the issue. The shower is fed mains pressure hot and cold water but runs very hot, the temperature knob adjusts it from very hot to "help get me out of here" but nothing cold/cool.

If it is likely to be the valve I'm not sure how to go about replacing it. I've managed to strip it down to reveal the valve but it's not obvious how to replace it.. I'm guessing the black plastic comes off and the valve screws (or pulls) out?

Any help appreciated... I've attached some photos
