I have been working in a customers house and they have asked me a question about getting an electric shower fitted.
They want a triton 9.5kw electric shower fitted, what sort of wiring should they be using and as they have an old style fuse box would they need a seperate shower consumer unit fitted any advise so i can pass it on many thanks

OK.

How far is it from the CU to the shower, what installation methods will apply to the cable, and will there be any de-rating factors such as grouping or ambient temperature to consider?

What type of supply do they have?

Is the main equipotential bonding in place, and what size is it?

What is the size of the main earth cable?

Is there supplementary equipotential bonding in place?

Does it have a spare way?

What is the maximum rating for an individual circuit that it can support?

Yes, when you provide enough information.

But since they need to get an electrician to do the work it all seems a bit pointless not to just let him get on with it...
