Hi we are about to change our loft into a usable living space. We want to put a shower up there but have an old potterton puma combi boiler. Will it be man enough? We don't know what to use. Any suggestions...
Oh ps to have an existing shower we need to turn the thermostat up to 30 and the system onto constant to have an enjoyable wash.
We dont want to be blasted by the new shower, but certainly refreshed..any suggestions...

Very many thanks

i would suggest you take out your old combi boiler and install a ground source heat pump with a thermal store you then need to install solar panels to heat your hot water in the summer and run your underfloor heating in the winter which you will also have to install. If you need a quote give us a call (rough estimate £35,000) look forward to hearing from you

If your current boiler is struggling with one shower then I think you've answered your own question - it simply will not cope with two running together. As a slightly cheaper option than the one suggested above, either consider getting a more powerful combi installed, or a system store such as Glowworm's Ultrapower or Ideal's Istor

Thanks everyone...35k is a bit ott. But an idea worth merit. I think option 2 a new boiler sounds the best solution...
Any ideeas as to price and product?

How much would a new combi cost....
What would be the best for the 2 shower option....
And thanks

Thank you everyone...
The electric shower option has been discussed and rejected on style.
We are sorry but if we are spending the best part of 50k on the loft conversion we dont want a box on the wall.
Oh and a small drip.
