can anyone help!!

I have just moved into a Victorian house with modern yet old plumbing. The shower runs off the hot water tank in the bathroom...however the pressure is low so it dribbles out and there seems to be just hot water and no cold...

I have looked in the airing cupboard which is a mass of pipes and tap (also a small pump)...what should I be looking for to improve the pressure and also so cold comes out of the shower in addition to hot?

There is a good chance that the pump you are refering to is the central heating one. This sort of post is quite hard to answer as there can be many possible reasons.. Hot water for a shower does mostly come directly off the top of the cylinder (In your airing cupboard) if it a thermostatically controlled one it could possibly have its own pump. (This will normally be situated on the floor and have 4 flexible long connectors on the top of it.)
Check this and post back !!!!
The cold feed for this type of shower will probably come from the main cold water storage tank in the loft.
Check this as well !!!
I have just re-read your post... Are you saying that your hot water tank is in your bathroom?
