Hi,

We have quite a weak flow of water from our shower (its always been this way), we also have quite a slow refill rate on the toilet or from taps.

We'd like a more powerful shower mainly, but wondered if it were worth addressing the pressure in general throughout the house, and if so how we would have this done?

The airing cupboard/tank is on same floor as bathroom, and the cold water tank is in the attic. We've a condensing boiler (British Gas 330+ ) fitted by BG last year.

At the moment the shower controls are mounted directly onto the tiles, so would rather not have an external electric power shower but if thats the best option will certainly consider.

Any advice please?

Thank you.

Sounds like you could be on an indirect cold water system. Your upstairs appliances could be plumbed into your CWSC in your loft which should also be feeding your shower. You could always get someone to replumb your toilet and taps into the mains providing you dont have mixer taps that mix in the valve body. You could also look at fitting a pump to boost the performance of your shower. If you are on an indirect cold water system and you decide to go with the pump you would almost certainly have to replumb your taps and toilet.

A pump in the airing cupboard is the commonest /cheap solution. Then a problem can be that it'll pump the loo and make a racket turning on in the middle of the night. Cheapest way round that can be a plug-in type timer.

There are lots of "better" ways to do things, where you start multiplying the cost by big numbers.

Loo shouldn't be slow to fill anyway - probably needs a little attention.
