hi guys need to take off a radiator with a danfoss thermostatic radiator valve what s the best way to shut off the valve and take off the radiator

close it to the "O" position
then close the lockshield and count the turns write it in pencil on the rad
then carry on
undo the flow connection and have a tray etc handy
when drained undo the return
remove rad
bobs yer uncle etc

Won't the TRV leak?
My Danfoss TRV's came with a little decorating cap which you remove the TRV head and put the caps on instead which fully pushes in the pin.
You could make up a cap though to go where the radiator was connected to stop/reduce any leaks

might if its on"*" and the temp drops
the decoraters cap is the right way
