Hi all. Im new to the forum so please excuse me if this is in the wrong area.
I have an oak effect sideboard and my partner has decided to put sellotape on it then removed it. This has taken off some of the oak effect. Is there anything i can do to repair this? Perhaps a pen or filler?
Many thanks

You can try something like the repair wax shown in the link below. Colour matching can be tricky, and sometimes you need to mix a bit from seperate sticks, but they usually work well - much better than those cheap crayon type packs you can buy, anyway.

DIY stores sell various branded versions which often come with two or more different colour sticks to mix to the various shades of particular wood types, so it may be worth a trip to see the colours in front of you. Some waxes are harder than others (soft ones shown in link) which can be more difficult to blend, but they do last longer.

DEPENDS what you mean by oak effect, if it's not wooden surface wax sticks will be of little use.

Had this problem on a dark oak coffee table that had rings on it from people placing hot cups on it. I used brown boot polish. The boot polish contains brown dye, then polished it with an orbital car polisher.
