siemens xlm1400 doesn't take water in.

Seimens xlm1400 washer spins,empty ok but doesn't take water in. When you switch on it clicks and does nothing. This is an intermittent fault. It comes to life sometimes, works for few days and stops again. Cleaned the filter area, nothing happens. Any suggestion?

Thanks for the reply. mechanically it is OK, because it spins and empty the m/c. The problem here is it doesn't take water in. Yesterday I opened it up to see if there is something obvious, and it started to work. It is working now but i know it will stop again.It happened before.
