I'm looking for a video (there may have been two) that was in German, and was on Youtube maybe ten years ago, about the correct way to apply silicone sealant on baths and showers, using Fugi tools. I downloaded it back then, and I'm sure I have it on my PC, but I can't find it, even using the 'Everything' program, which lets me search all my hard drives.
Has anybody here ever seen it, and do you know the name of it, so I can find it again on my computer? I would like to upload it to Youtube if I find it, as a lot of the videos on there about applying sealant are incorrect. This video went into great detail, scientifically, about why you should use a Fugi type tool to finish sealant off.

Thankyou!!!!!! A million thanks!!! I couldn't find it on my PC because I couldn't remember the title - FugenStar! You're a star mate!!!

This is the definitive video on how to apply sealant, in my opinion.

Edit: After searching for FugenStar on my PC - it was never there in the first place - I think I must have just watched it on Youtube several times in the old days, before I started downloading every video of interest on there (I use JDownloader 2, in case anybody wants to know how to download Youtube videos. It also means you can just watch the video without having to watch all the adverts, which have got ridiculous over the past month or so on Youtube.)

Although I do use silicone profiling tools, the videos over exaggerate how effective they are. If you use too much silicone, it will leave leave residue behind regardless of which brand of tool you use. You might not be able to see it but in time, when cleaning, the super thin film will start to rip off.

That said, it is one of the better videos that I have watched.

I have to say I haven't had that problem, I can put silicone anywhere I want on a tile or bath, and easily remove it all with a Fugi tool, that's how I clean up any that has gone astray, and I've never had it leave residue behind. I don't see how it could leave any residue behind, to be honest.
See 17:15 in Tet's video, for example - I do that all the time with my Fugis and never have a problem getting the surface completely clean with one stroke.

Thanks for that video, Tet - that's a brilliant examination of the whole thing - I've become a bit obsessed about it, I think... ;)

Fugi is one of my prefered brands. Take an offcut of a tile, apply the silicone on the tile, wipe the tool over it (to remove the recently applied silicone). Leave it to cure. Then use a scouring pad to rub the tile... You would have to use an incredible amount of pressure to remove all traces of the silicone when running the tool over it.

Sorry mate, I am not making this up. They are useful tools but massively over sold with regards to their ability to create flawless silicone joints.
