Wife picked up some Silicone Sealant so when I came to use it managed to get all over my hands, so got as much off as I could, then washed hands, and it washed off with soap and water, marked for use in a bathroom, but if it washes off hands I would have thought will also wash off shower?

Nah it's fine- until it's cured you use a soapy finger (fnarr fnarr) to 'point' the stuff, once it's gone off you need a sharp knife or explosives to shift it :)

It is mad stuff. Why don't we use it as glue? When I removed the old shower screen, I unscrewed it, and the silicone was so strong it pulled some tiles off with the screen. OK, the tiles weren't exactly professionally done, but still, bloody sticky stuff.

Feel happier thank you all three of you. I do remember a sink at my mothers on a MDF unit and the unit clearly could not stand being wet all the time, it was in a wet room, so removed the unit under the sink and thought the sink was bolted to wall, found out a year latter it was not, when sink fell off wall in middle of the night.

Soap. Water and Salt to clean grubby hands however remember your hands have oils in pushing off grime and silicone
