Silk emulsion over silk emulsion?

Hi guys, I'm sure that probably sounds a bit dumb and for that, I apologise!

The interior walls on this flat are magnolia silk & to avoid rubbing down to paint with magnolia matt emulsion, I was hoping that I could apply silk magnolia instead to avoid the rubbing down process?

I'm not a professional but there used to be a lot of vinyl silk on the walls in my home. From what I remember two coats of new silk usually did the job.
