I am trying to reconnect a simple battery operated Friedland doorbell, which I disconnected years ago whilst decorating.
Takes 2 large 1.5v batteries.
There are 2 thin wires about the same length coming out of the wall.
The doorbell has 3 connectors with screws.
One connector on a battery (positive) marked with a 0.
One connector on the other battery (negative) marked with a 2.
A third connector marked with a 1 is below the connector marked 0.
2 wires in the unit come from the bell housing. One goes to the connector marked with the 2. The other just makes a loop from top to bottom.
I connected the 2 wires from the wall to connectors 0 and 2 expecting it to work but it didn’t.
If I put a bit of fuse wire from 0 to 1 it rings.
Thank you.
