At least I hope its simple!

I just bought a new place and we have a 1st floor balcony. Upon sitting out on it the other day I noticed a small crack approx one quarter of an inch wide and about 1 inch high underneath the window. It is under the ledge and the balcony is roofed however I would like to try and repair it if possible. I gently inserted a kitchen knife into the crack and it is quite deep. Perhaps 3-4 inches.

Could somebody possibly advise as to a good product that I might use to repair this? I assume there is some sort of filler or sealent that can be used? I was reading some other guides and they mentioned Vinyl concrete patching compound and Latex Caulk? Not sure whats best really. They also mentioned if useing these to fill the crack with sand up to a certain depth?

These tips may be useless or maybe not but I was hoping one of you experts might be able to advise?

Thank you very much.
