I am just replacing the Bedroom Halogens with LEDs, bought an LED dimmer switch off ebay but it has only 2 connectors (single pole) my current dimmer switch has 3 red wires and one earth is there a way I can use this dimmer switch with the current wiring, first picture shows my current dimmer switch, second picture shows the new Single Pole dimmer switch and the third photo is the wiring diagram that came with it?

I guess there is a second switch for the lights in the room?
In that case you need a two-way LED dimmer. The one you have bought cannot do that.
Buy a Varilight V-Pro dimmer from the likes of Screefix or Amazon. Use the Fleabay dimmer somewhere else.

I was looking at the number of wires, had not considered two-way, but that does seem the likely reason. In the main I use smart bulbs not dimmers, as except for Philips, there is no ambiance, with a dimmer switch, the bulb stays at the same colour temperature, and the special Philips bulb costs as much as a smart bulb.

Thanks for your assistance, they were advertised as 2 way, I bought a proper Axiom 2 way Led Dimmer from Toolstation today which just connected to the existing wiring and is working fine, I will just return the ebay switches.
