Hi,
I'm fitting a new kitchen sink and taps.
The sink is a ceramic and the taps are monoblock type.
My problem is that the flatness of the area around the hole in the sink is not level and when I thighten up the taps it tends to follow the level of the sink and therefor is not level by eye. You can notice it leaning to the left when you look straight at it.
I have the rubber washer on but when you tighten up it obviosly follows the line of the sink.
Any body got any ideas how to get the taps level?
I fitted this type sink before and never had a problem.
Have I just got a bad molded sink or is this normal?
I was thinking of maybe sitting it on a bed of silicone but that could get messy.
Thanks

Frankly, I(when we fitted them) would always take such things back. You need to do the thing up tight, or it'll swivel and leak before long. You could possibly get something in there, like a harder plastic, or a filed-down mound of araldite, but , ugh.

It's a fact of plumbing that most of the objects we have to work with are pretty poor.
