Hi there,

Our plumber is having difficulty fitting a trap to our new sink and has all but given up, so I thought I'd ask here for advice.

We have an enamel bucket sink (https://www.dykeanddean.com/products/dyke-dean-enamel-bucket-sink-black-rim). The plumber has tried a standard trap and also an EU adaptor, and says neither fit the waste outlet. The sink distributer sent a link to this adapter which they say 'should' work: https://www.plumbers-mate-sales.co....2-uk-waste-pipe-adapter---39000098-5636-p.asp
Plumber is saying he has tried that and it didn't.

Here's a pic of under the sink. I'm a total novice so not really sure what I'm looking for, but our plumber is fed up and I'm not getting any help there. Short of buying a new sink, any ideas?! Should I order the McAlpine adapter and try myself??

Thank you!

I don’t think your plumber is a plumber! Otherwise he’d have sorted this without much ado.

That adapter would be to fit the waste pipe in the wall, not the sink waste, or is it the waste pipe in the wall that he can't get anything to fit onto it?

If so can you measure the pipe's outside diameter?
