We've excavated an area where there was a drain pipe coming through the wall an there's no lintel, just a rough hole in the outer skin. I'm not happy to leave it as such as we're working elsewhere on the building and I wouldn't like the building Control Officer to see this.
Is there a lintel size (depth) and overlap that is generally used. I've got a 150mm left over from another job that I could cut down and a chainsaw to cut the opening neatly but a 100mm depth would be easier. The building is double block above DPC single storey with sip panel roof and lightweight tiles.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated
