My house was built in 1946 when wood was scarce. Therefore the downstairs skirting boards are all made of concrete. They are 95mm high dept 18mm and pretty ugly. I cant pull them off due to damage to floors etc so i am looking for anyone who manufactures "hollowed" skirting boards that I can fit over the existing concrete ones.

does anyone know of anyone who does this, or cab they think of a better solution?

Try fixing a batten to the wall sitting above the skirting to a top height to match a stock skirting profile - anything the same thickness as the existing will do - then fit a standard skirting over both, fill the joint, rub down and paint. Will be thicker than a standard skirting obviously but if the room is large enough to warrant a tall skirting it will make a nice feature.
