Sky box turns TV on....

In the last few weeks whenever I turn on my Sky+ box my Panasonic plasma TV turns itself on as well . Never used to do this . Doesn't happen if I disconnect the HDMI lead and leave it connected by Scart lead . My Virgin Media box works normally and doesn't turn the TV on . Any ideas ? I'm guessing the problem is with the Sky box and not the TV

Sky updated the firmware to do this on compatible tvs, about a week or two ago. You can turn it off.

You can turn off the HDMI-CEC control in your Sky box settings by pressing Services > 0 > Down > and changing 'HDMI Control' to off.


On one of my Samsungs, when it is enabled, the source changes from sky to dvd when i press the services menu... PITA so disabled it.

Yeah its a new update I also have a Panasonic tv and the sky box turns it on
