cheers..i did consider thatm i thought that there might be some kind of trim available for slabs, which will give it a more pleasant look, rather then use cement..

Half cut slab laid at an angle, to make a ramp down?

Raise the level of the grass so thatt it meets the slab

Much the easiest thing... sprinkle some dry sifted soil over the grass and it will grow up through it... do that a few times to give the increase you need.

It works better if the grass is cut short so that the blades are not squashed flat but stick up like the bristles on a hedgehog.

Do it in dry weather so the soil does not turn to mud. If you soil is heavy you can add coarse sand. The sand will also reduce the muddiness of this part of the lawn

You may need to do it several times as the new soil will settle or be trampled down.

If you want to do it quickly you can bank up the soil and reseed it.
