Slate roof vent

Hi,

I want to fit a vent into my slate roof as an outlet for a ventilation system. I have a vent which is essentially the same size as a single slate.

Two questions:
How do you refit the slates around the vent, as far as I can tell I wont be able to get at the nail holes as they will be covered by the un-disturbed slates (are clips ok to use).

The bottom of the vent should be fixed with a copper rivet, I have some but am not sure how to use them (do you use this like a nail)

Hi. It is possible you will have to use clips / straps to support slates. i have a video on http://justlead.co.uk/news/Page-2.html that may help but the situation is a bit different from that which you described. Good Luck
