I use an old slide copier which was designed for a 35mm SLR with Pentax K but with my new D-SLR which is 26mm I find it will not copy the whole slide. I also find it needs day light and trying to light any other way does not seem to get a smooth lighting effect.
I would like to copy larger negatives both on celluloid and glass the latter from an old German half plate camera and I am sure there must be a simple way to transfer to digital. I am told some scanners are designed for this but my Brother auto feed fax, scanner, printer, copier is very good and I have no real desire to change it.
The purpose built slide copier seems very simple and for Christmas I have bought some close up lens X1, X2, X4, X10 and I have a light box and tripod so I am hoping after Christmas to have another go.
However those I have copied to date have required Photo Shop CS4 to correct the colours. Some I have found removing the saturation and either using as monochrome or selectively replacing saturation with history brush tool has helped where colours seem to have distorted over time.
