Hey,
I'd like to move a door opening (see //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/stair-stringers.422160/)
Rather than completely blocking up the old opening I thought about using it as a space/void to slide the door in to rather than having a traditional hinged door. It's in a narrowish hallway so this would be a massive bonus.
I have finished flooring in to under the stairs so don't want anything running on (scratching) it, so the mechanism would need to be completely top mounted, as in mounted to the top of the door lining/jamb, rather than externally to the opening. I would then build up the lining around it to hide the mechanism, then finish with architrave.
Does such a thing exist?
