Hi All
I’m considering replacement of the locking mechanism on our UPVC sliding kitchen door.
The cylinder has been renewed recently and the door is locking easily at present. However, I suspect that the mechanism is at least 15 years old, and it occurs to me that I should know where to get a replacement and how to fit it, well in advance of any failure.
I’ve fitted many locks in wooden doors over the years, but UPVC mechanism is not something I’ve done before, and I’d appreciate it if someone could advise which measurements and/or other details I need to take from the old fitting before ordering a replacement. The name of a reliable and reasonable supplier of decent quality lock mechanisms for sliding doors would also be appreciated. The mechanism has hooks top, middle and bottom, and a single static pin just below the lock.
I can supply photos if it would help.
TIA
