Upon inspection of a foul smell coming from the kitchen sink I was horrified to find the bottletrap and wastepipes lined with a black gungified slime.
Upon further inspection the bathroom waste and to a lesser extent the shower enclosure and the washing machine doorseal are similarly affected. As all the wastepipes are less than two years old the build up seems excessive.
I have contacted the local Water Authority who informed me it was Bio-film caused by magnesium in the water supply.
I would be most grateful if anyone could offer any advice as to how to remove this slime, especially from inaccessible pipework and if any preventative action can be taken.
Thanks.
