Hi

I've recently knocked a wall between two ground floor rooms and have found that the (concrete) floor of one of the rooms slopes along the new opening from a height difference of zero to a maximum difference of about three inches.

Do I need to screed it with a sand/cement mix? I've never worked with cement before so I'd like to use battens to help me level it. How do I do this with such a slope?

Once the floor is level I am going to be putting battens down for floorboards. Would it be easier to make the eventual floor level by adjusting the height of the floorboard battens?

I'd like to avoid having to shave down a bunch of battens in line with the slope of the floor....

could you not lay your battons the other way accros the slope

so each batton is progresivly deeper
so it would be the whole batton the same depth

big all
