My C/H tank in loft fills up with hot water and overflows, is there a reasonably easy way to fix this problem Please, many thanks.

It means that your system is 'pumping over' which is usually caused by a blockage in the feed pipe where is connects just before the boiler. You could try turning the pump speed down first to see if that helps but that may only be a short-term solution.

If you have a magnet and can gain access to the pipework where the feed connects you can test for a blockage by running the magnet over that area of the pipework - if it sticks then you have a blockage of magnetite - which comes from decomposition of the steel radiators and collects in the pipes. The system will need a good chemical clean and may need that area of pipework replaced to rectify the problem.

Good answer kbdiy. It could also be a failed coil in an indirect cylinder. Less common than the suggested blockage, but worth remembering Fabian.
