About 6 years ago, I had an Ecoair DCW10 dehumidifier fitted high up on the wall of a small bathroom. For the first couple of years, it was very effective at keeping down condensation but, thereafter, was a constant problem with leaking water and extremely frequent sessions (every 5 or 10 minutes) of defrosting. It has now stopped working and is completely dead, although I have checked the power and fuse at the connection.
It is probably beyond economical repair so I am trying to source a replacement. However, small wall-mounted dehumidifiers seem to be unavailable - Ecoair have discontinued the DCW10 and no longer produce a wall-mounted dehumidifier, and Meaco are the same. The bathroom has an extractor fan but this seems unequal to the task of getting rid of all humid air.
Is there a reason why such dehumidifiers seem no longer to be produced - I would have expected a good demand for them? Does anyone know of one that is currently on the market?
