smeg dishwasher not working

I have a smeg dishwasher model number df612sdx with a problem. when I switch it on it instantly goes to the two end lights which flash but when I press the program button it wont change. I then switch dishwasher off and on again press program again and it moves to first program, then I press start and it beeps then goes back to the two end lights. then after a few seconds all the five lights come on and beeps. dishwasher will not start. lando tried a reset but this doesn't work. any ideas????
