Basically I've had this washer dryer for about 2 1/2 years. Maybe 3 or 4 months ago the dryer stopped working. Drum would spin but no heat.

After googling I found the thermal overload switch had popped out so reset it. Also discovered the little flashing symbol wasn't that the dryer had been selected but that it needed an intensive wash to clear the fluff out. This had never been done before. Oops.

Now however, the dryer keeps on failing maybe after every 2 or 3 drying cycles and I have to keep on resetting the overload switch. Clearly something else is wrong but I have no idea where to start.

I've done the intensive fluff wash, and emptied the hose filter at the bottom of the machine.

Is there anything else I should be doing before I call someone in?

Thanks very much

is it well vented,ie not blocked,if it is, it could be the thermostat is passed its prime you can easily buy the right one for 10>15 quid and replace it yourself..its two screws and two wires.i take a photo with me mobile so no confusion as to what went where..got away with it once, but on another machine it was the control circuit board, big £££,bought a reconditioned second hand one off the same people who gave me the quote for an extra £20..and a trade in.im conspiritorial and think things are built to fail..soz ..hope its the 1ST solution.
