Hi - I recently had a plumber come to clean out pipes underneath bathroom sink. It was blocked but never smelly. Now it is unblocked but stinks. They say it’s not their fault. I took before and after pictures as you can see they put it back together at weird angles.. There is still a U bend but they’ve put pipes together at weird angles - could this affect air flow and hence smell? Any ideas please and many thanks

Good morning @JoM1,

This should be in the plumbing section for the best accurate answers, being a plumber I’ll answer. It looks ok to me, but the trap isn’t directly off the wash hand basin (not sink), so any smells before the trap can emanate into the room.

Thank you so much. And tj be clear what is difference between wash hand basin and the sink please ? Many many thanks I need ammunition to go back to plumber who fitted it!! Thank a

So nothing to do with the way it’s been put back together this time particularly

My point is they didn’t emanate into the room before the new arrangement of pipes … is it coincidence?

Could be running too quickly as the first pipe is quite a fall.
