Hello,
When I had my study conversion done in 2018, building control told me I had to upgrade my smoke detectors to mains powered and interlinked, so I had an electrician fit me a heat sensor and two mains powered smoke detectors.
What I didn't realise is that the one in my hall had a "replace 2022" label, whereas the others are 2028. Unfortunately the base unit (DS700RF) has been discontinued. It comes with a 670MBX main alarm unit with 9v battery.
Today that base unit has started chirping and I've tried everything, so assume that the base unit lithium battery is expiring.
Safelincs tell me that the alarm is discontinued so I would have to replace all 3 detectors at the same time if I changed to a FireAngel or Aico as they aren't a direct replacement.
Does anyone have any great ideas about what I should do, or do I just suck it up and pay an electrician to replace all 3 detectors with new ones?
Thanks, Steven
