Snails on the line?

This is a snail on the telephone line that comes from the pole to my house, it started at the house end and by the time I snapped his aerial acrobatics he'd crawled some 4 meters.

It has a happy ending too, around an hour later he made it to the ivy-clad pole!

Amazingly it`s cousin, a slug was involved in the following incident :-

A tortoise got mugged on the lawn by four slugs.

Police were called and asked if he got a description of his attackers.

He replied,

"No, it all happened too fast!"

a plumber was prosecuted for animal cruelty after battering to death a pet tortoise at a house where he was working.

In mitigation, he said the tortoise had got on his nerves. It had been following him around all day.
