The regulations state that a way of satisfying the requirements of easy reach for sockets and switches is to install them at knee and elbow height respectively.

Is this a must-have for certification? or can I leave the accessories in their current locations?

Fig 8A in the OSG indicates that the heights are regs, not guidelines.

As you say, most of it guidelines and recommendations.....

Every house is different and a little common sense is needed...

AFAIK, they only apply to new builds, not existing

they aren't part of the IEE wiring regs so techically they have nothing to do with your cert anyway.

they are part of certain building regulations on disabled access which im pretty sure (i don't have the specs in front of me) only apply on new builds or where a building is stripped down to a shell of outer walls only.
