Soffit replacement

iam thinking of putting up some plastic soffits and guttering/downspouts myself.
Is this a diy job, or would it be better to get it done proffessionaly. Currently there is absbestos soffits, and i would just go over the top of it.
Hiring some scaffolding will cost £100 week. The cost of materials is just under £2000.
Am i taking on too much.

depends how good you are, but the asbestos will have to be carefully removed and disposed of properly

dont think you are allowed to, what are you going to do when you sell house, surveyor spots it, and oh, no sale it has asbestos

Seem a like a lot to me unless it's a big property! I have done one on a detached bungalow, soffit, fasica, gutter and the materials come to £370.

The asbestos sheeting can remain insitu on a domestic house providing it is intact. The reason being it is not harmful provided it stays where it is. It can be overboarded.

My neighbour was quoted £800 just to remove asbestos .
I have been told to drill pilot holes when fixing and wear a dust mask.
I'm still shopping for a cheaper supplier as i think that 2k is rather a lot just for front/back.
