Hi everyone,

In my extension there is a downstairs toilet and in the corner; 4" pvc pipe connected to the outside drains. At present it is only 8" or so above ground level. Directly above the toilet is an ensuite which will have a shower, sink and toilet in it. However the soil pipe would appear right next the the window in the ensuite if it were on a pure vertical route. What I'd like to do is put a bend (either 15deg or 35deg) starting at ceiling height in the downstairs toilet. By doing this I can run the soil pipe in the corners of both rooms and box them in neatly. I have done an illustration to help make things clearer.

Is it ok to have the bend as proposed?

Thanks in advance

You`d be better with the pipe venting through the roof rather than an aav  you can get special vent tiles to match existing - so it`s unobtrusive.

Thank you for the replies. I've done as suggested and it doesn't look too bad at all.

Is there any reason why it would be better to have it venting through the roof instead of using an aav? The main stack of the house vents through the roof.

I`m a bit cautious about the shower and sink wastes maybe pulling out - and I don`t like aav`s even when there is a main stack ;) Personally I would use Hep V O waste valves on the basin and shower if the aav in the roof stays . Maybe I`m just pedantic.
