Hi, I've attached a pic of my current set up, the vertical terracotta pipe is to be cut back and a black soil pipe to be ran straight up , just wondering what happens to the t connector when I lose the old soil pipe, can it just be blanked off?

Replace junction with a bend, and get rid of the redundant pipework.
