Couple of things:

Firstly what sort of drop do you need on a soil pipe

and

Secondly any thoughts on connecting a new plastic swept T branch to an existing cast iron soil stack.

Firstly what sort of drop do you need on a soil pipe

The standard fall is 1:40 ie 1 inch for every 40 inch in length.
