Hi,
I'm looking for some advice really. I'm considering purhcasing the thermal insulating wallpaper and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this. I've read many good reviews, but also some that say its a waste of time.

We recently bought an old house, Victorian detatched and its very drafty and cold, particularly in the very top room (a loft conversion). I need someway of insulating the loft room, in particular the outer-facing wall and the ceiling. I came across insulating wall paper liner and thought this was a relatively cheap solution.
Any one had any experiences?

Complete waste of time, way too thin.If the loft conversion is cold you either have insufficient heat source or insulation.

Agreed. Your most cost effective starting point is dealing with the draughts as you can find them. Making a Victorian detached house even remotely thermally efficient is going to be a major undertaking.

I've got a Victorian Semi and have made a massive difference on the top floor by insulating the attic bedrooms.

Every external wall now has 50mm of insulated plasterboard, accessible bits of the roof now have 400mm of rockwool (with spaces for ventilation etc etc) and the internal sloping sections under the roof also have 50mm of insulated plasterboard fitted.

I created a hell of a mess when removing all the old plaster and spent quite a bit of money on it, but the rooms are now the warmest in the house when they used to be the coldest.
