Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of boarding my loft for storage. Each time I go back in the loft I notice patches of black dust/dirt on the boards or insulation that is obviously coming off the back of the roof tiles after bad weather.

Is there any way I can cover the roof beams to stop this? Is there something specifically designed for this type of problem? Can I use plastic sheeting or some kind of breathable membrane and staple it to the beams etc? And finally is there any reason why you shouldn't cover the beams?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Sorry to ask but does anyone have any ideas about this? I'm off to B&Q at the weekend :D

Thanks.

i would try and steer away from plastic sheet. I would guess you will get a build up of moister when the tiles heat and chill with the sun ect. ( im no pro here! ) Maybe a felt underlay or something?
