Pregnant woman arrested for using cocaine:
You may have already heard about this story on CNN or your local paper, but we had to mention this story because the women involved is up for a WAY WEIRD IDIOT OF THE YEAR nomination.
Yes, a 29 year old Indiana woman, Janet Mingsley, was arrested late last night for cocaine possession at the Indiana night club JUMPING JIMPERNY'S. A patron at the club saw Mingsley snorting 5 lines of cocaine in the women's restroom and immediately informed a bouncer, who informed the manager, who informed the police.
Mingsley was arrested at JUMPING JIMPERNY'S at 11:17 PM for cocaine possession and possible child abuse. Mingsley, a mother of 2, left her two daughters in her pick-up truck in front of the club for the entire evening, and is also 7 months pregnant.
Mingsley gave the following statement to the police:
"So what if I have a few drinks and party like a porn star with cocaine every now and again. Go ahead and arrest me for narcotic possession, but how dare you even attempt to charge me for child endangerment. My sweet baby is still in the womb, and in no way will the 8 lines of coke that I snorted and the 3 white zinfandel wine spritzers that I drank in the past 2 hours even affect my baby. I don't believe in urban legends that my baby can be harmed by drug or alcohol consumption, it's a bunch of mumbo-jumbo brought on by the Bush administration. Why are you busting me anyway, arrest the president for illegally wire tapping us you sons of bitches"!
And to make things even worse for Mingsley, the police found 2 loaded firearms, an ounce of marijuana, and a samurai sword in the front seat of her pick-up truck. Yes, the same truck where she left her two young children to sleep while she "partied like a porn star".
Mingsley could face up to 20 years in prison for drug possession and child abuse.
