sony projection tv fault

hi guys

i have a sony 42inch projection tv which is about 8 years old and the problem im having is that the picture has a shadow. objects or writing on screen have like a coloured shadow to it which is mainly red.its like im watching tv without glasses although i have them on. has anyone come across this before,is it repairable or am i due for a replacement.

Not sure about the exact model but what you are describing is misaligned guns.
Not sure where you would start trying to rectify it either, needs quite specialist equipment and a certain talent. You could try and do it yourself but i really wouldn't know where to start.

So many different settings on projector sets, all of which can drift when you change any of the settings.

The fault you have is convergance were the red/blue/green outputs are not converging on the screen correctly. Have a look in the manual it may be just convergance correction alignment via remote control
