Hello,

Any recommendations on how to sound proof a party wall? Any particular systems / materials you've used which have absolutely worked as well as you hoped?

Thanks.

I have no experience but here are some possibilities. If it's just sound and not vibration coming through, then a plaster board wall in front of the party wall could help. Behind the plaster board wall, you can fill with Rock Wool - can't remember the UK term for that. In commercial buildings, I had the impression they sound proofed toilets by mounting MDF boards. If there is truth to that then you could put MDF boards behind the plaster board, assuming this doesn't violate any regulations.
