To minimize floor buildup, the structural engineer has specified doubled-up 175 x 75 (ie. 175 x 150) floor joists for our loft conversion. I am having problems sourcing joist hangers to work with this size, can anyone help?
Instead of doubling the joists up, why not just space them at one-half the spacing specified (ie if your doubled-joists are supposed to be at 400c/s, just put the single joists at 200c/s. Structurally there is no difference.
