Spirovent question

I am changing over a heating only boiler to a combi and relocating it at the same time.

The pipe work needs to be changed a bit, so the spirovent filter no longer sits between horizontal pipes, but vertical ones. This is the older model which hangs downwards. Is it ok to use it, basically on its side ?

If not i suppose we could do the return pipework to fit this filters requirements as before, but vertical pipe will be a lot neater.

...because, if it is like this one, it relies on gravity to cause the sediment particles to fall down the labrynth trap

Ok, thanks all.

Will have to make the return go horizontal for a small distance .

Install it on the return pipe leg that enters the boiler.
