The usual way to diagnose a fault is to call a competent engineer!

Thats a very odd question to ask without giving further information!

Ex Mick  as in Mick/Paddy service layer for gas board digging holes then went fitting Central heating systems :?: You`re having a giraffe. Is you Dr. Drivel come back  If you are a real Mick you`ll know what a Benjo is

the boiler has been looked at by a major company today and they have said that the boiler is split and we need a new boiler costing 4000 pounds plus the fitting cost whatever that will be I dread to think.the boiler is massive because it serves a modern church .The original question I posted was why can I not see any water leaking, and ifthe boiler is dangerous then the heating should be turned off or we should surely have been advised to do so.thank you Tony

II only meant to say that i have a little knowledge of gas work.Sorry to inform you that I am an englishman [with a shovel and graft]so your paddy/mick allusion was wrong[/quote]

When a condensing boiler splits the water goes down the condensate drain so you may not see water leaking, also if a condensing boiler has been fitted to a centuries old heating system typical in churches it is not un-common for the boiler to faile due to system debris blocking the small water ways that make up a modern steamers heat exchanger ;)

BG is not the only company in our industry but it is one of the more expensive.

Whatever you do make sure that that you do get at least three comparable quotes.

But amongst your few words you seem to be saying that the boiler is still working and the BG mad did not try to turn it off!

In most churches its found that radiant electric heaters are more economic to install and in most cases cheaper to operate if the services are not too long.

What is the make and model of boiler?

What type of church is it?

Where is it?

Tony

With declining church attendances, it may actually be cheaper to buy warm coats for the congregration so that heating is not required.
