Hi

We have a garden retaining wall which has split on both sides, there are no other cracks along the wall. There were 2 medium size trees, bay tree and a holly tree which has been removed now. We're thinking that the roots of the bay tree were pushing onto the wall. It was planted by a previous owner about a metre away from the wall. The other tree was further back. Also we can't see any drainage holes which doesn't probably help when it rains.

We've had few builders coming in to have a look at what can be done and we're getting different answers. Some say it can be repaired and others say it must be replaced.

I have attached few pictures and would appreciate your feedback.

That needs some serious, urgent and total addressing. It's in imminent danger of collapse onto a public pavement.
You need to fence off the area immediately to prevent anyone approaching the danger area.
You will probably have to do that in conjunction with your council.
