SPLIT: strange central locking problem

My 02 Focus has recently developed a strange central locking problem. The key fob button locks & opens all doors expect the drivers !! . I can only lock / unlock the drivers door manually using the key.

Any ideas for cause / solution ?

sounds as if the door actuator could be knackered,can you hear any motors whirring inside the door when you operate the locking?

I had a similar problem with my central locking on my nissan serena, I sprayed the moving parts and actuator switch with wd40 and this has worked.
Hopefully it is a similar problem with your door.

I've just been out to see if I can hear the actuators moving, but strangely the central locking is now fully operational again !!!

I cant decide if this is a good thing or not (think it's a good thing) since sometimes an intermittent problem can be tricky to correct.

I'll just need to keep an eye on it for a bit.

its a ford! and ford = crap electrics
i should know i have had a wiring loom, every door lock, 3 key fobs central locking actuator and numerous other parts changed on my 53 plate transit connect heap of junk!
