Split w/machine feed for w/machine + dishwasher

Morning all

I have a counter top dishwasher on order, it'll be sitting on worktop above the washing machine so it's close to existing cws/waste

I'm going to put a mcalpine twin spigot onto the existing stand pipe to allow both to discharge into the existing waste but my issue is with the cold supply.

At the moment there is plastic pipe with a speedfit appliance tap on it (and the washing machine attached to it) - can I screw a brass Y piece straight into this?

You can but I rather have a separate supply with own tap, tee into cold feed.

Thanks both - opted for the best solution in the end, put a tee in and then a new valve off of that
